Natural Edged Red Gum Mitred U Base Table

This rare piece of timber was salvaged from a farm at Halls Gap. The tree, hit by lightning, was resting in a paddock for many years. Probably destined for firewood, the insightful farmer decided to sell the tree log to be milled, dried and made into a magnificent table to be admired for generations to come.

Red Gum.

Type of Joinery
Exposed tenons on the bottom of the U base.

Finish/Colour
3 x coats clear 2 Pack Lacquer.

Notes: The natural bark edge of this table has been carefully hand sanded and preserved to high light its’ natural beauty.

    The magnificent timber used to create this table was retrieved from an extremely old Elm tree felled at Croydon High School in Victoria. The 2 45mm thick pieces used in this table top have been book matched or “butterflied” together using floating tenons. The base of this table is a U based steel design that has been powder coated black. The star of this table is obviously the exquisite top which vividly shares the tree’s life!
