Recycled Messmate.
Type of Joinery
Mortice and Tenon joints. Drawers – dovetails joints, half housed joints and floating tenons.
Finish/Colour
3 x coats clear lacquer (30% gloss). Hand buffered bee’s wax.
Notes: Timber retrieved from demolished house. 3 x drawers fitted with Blumotion anti slam drawer mechanisms. Hand turned timber handles. The front of the drawers is one piece of timber allowing the grain to be consistent across the front.

English Elm Table
Read moreThe magnificent timber used to create this table was retrieved from an extremely old Elm tree felled at Croydon High School in Victoria. The 2 45mm thick pieces used in this table top have been book matched or “butterflied” together using floating tenons. The base of this table is a U based steel design that has been powder coated black. The star of this table is obviously the exquisite top which vividly shares the tree’s life!
